We are thinking of purchasing a Fun Mover 39D by Four Winds. We like the cargo space for quads, bikes...ETC and the rated towing capacity of #27,000. The unit has a GCWR of #60,000. We would be in the #50,000 GCWR range once set-up (#32,000 MH and #18,000 trailer). This is within the specs advertised by Four Winds.
The MH is built on a Ford 750 chassis with a Cat C-7 300HP/860 torque and Allison 6-speed. This Cat (to me) seems to be light for this application?
This will be our first MH purchase. We would like to have some input from experienced Rv'ers.

j2kdrv, welcome to iRV2.com. We are glad you have found and joined us here. I believe I have heard it said that one would want 100 hp per 10,000 lbs of weight. If this is true, the rig you have discribed would be light on enough hp and torque. You may want to check on other large C conversions like Showhauler or Dynomax.
