I thought this was humorous. This happened this past summer just east of Elkhart IN

I asked for a site and was asked what electric did I have. I replied , 50 amp but 30 amp will do as I have all the adapters.
The person informed me that I could only use the 50 amp sights as if I tried to plug into the 30 amp, I would damage the electric service in the park.
I left. I was an electrician in a previous life which probably made it more of an absurd statement. No use trying to talk sense to someone like that, besides they charged extra for wifi. They advertised free wifi but it was only free for an hour; long enough to log on to purchase access by the day....

I backtracked west to the Good Sam park and I was so happy I did, that park was great and it had, perhaps, the best wifi I have ever used in a campground.

You might have back fed 50 amps into the 30 amp power grid and ruined everything...

I probably would have moved on too. No telling what he would have charged you if you feed 20 amps back into his system. May have made his meter run backwards.

Some campgrounds charge a extra couple of bucks more if you have 50amp service if you use it or not.

Maybe he thought that since your rig could run on both 50 and 30 amp, it was bipolar and that scared him... Bob

Domino effect, the campground grid would go, then the local power grid, then city by city the nation would be put into darkness and it would be all my fault...

It would be fine if you run it through a flux capacitor.

Is there an amp rating on the sewer hose? I never realized that. I hope I haven't hooked mine up to a dump station that wasn't rated for it.

Only if you don't have it grounded properly.

Reminds me of the guy that let his slide out on his travel trailer; pushed over the electrical pedestal that had the water faucet attached.

I thought we were celebrating the 4th of July in May!
