Garmin BC 20 Back Up Camera install

I am tired of running over my DW when I back into a parking space. So, I ordered a Garmin BC 20 camera to go with the new 760 LMT. It shouldn't be too difficult to install, I hope.

Any pointers for the install from the gallery?

I just installed one and it was simple. I feed the wire thru the license plate light. I ran it up into the trunk compartment and hook the wire feed wire to the backup light. Took about 45 minutes. Notice the camera mounted on the right. The wire runs behind the plate and I drilled a small whole under L plate light. I removed the black plastic that holds the light and found a large 1-1/2" hole and ran camera wire with light wire into truck storage area.

Garminn BC 20 Back Up Camera install

I'm thinking of getting the bc30 so it will work with my gps. I just can't figure out where to put the transmitter in my f150 where it will stay dry.....

Edit: never mind. I just found a video that says the transmitter is water resistant so that's not as big as an issue as I thought it would be. Let me know how it goes!

I went with the BC 20 and use the 760 LMT GPS in the MH. The transmitter is in the storage truck area. The fuse is NOT water proof

Looks like your plate in about centered on the vehicle. How is the view? Mine is on the left side of the trailer AND I have a foldable luggage rack.

The view is very wide and the lines are adjustable. buy how much I am not sure I will see if I can take a picture of the view on the GPS.

Went out and took a look and do not think it will work on the left or far right side. needs to be in the middle. The lens on camera is adjustable up and down You would need to think about hard wiring instead of using wireless. Going up higher then your rack.

I ended up putting the camera on the jeep since it just was not to my liking on the rv....

granted it's on the bumper, but seems out of proportion even on the jeep

Thanks for the photos. I think that I'll put it in the center, just below the clerance lights. The picture quality is better than I was expecting.

Don't forget, if you pick up power from the clearance lights the BC20 will work when the running lights are on.

Can this unit be set up for continuous monitoring of the towed vehicle? My built in unit died and the shop installed a new one that will only work in reverse or when the flashers on the MH are activated. I want something that I can glance at the Jeep and make sure everything is OK

I would use something else other then the BC20 or BC30 because you would not get the use of the GPS. Use a stand alone backup camera and monitor without GPS, just wire it to the tail lights and it will work when lights are on.
