Pilot/FJ, Loves, Sam's Club, Kroger family stores, Costco. Use Gas Buddy to look up price and Google maps to see if you can get in/out

I use Kroger when possible, since we use the fuel points, and can save up to $1.00 per gallon. Second choice is Wal-Mart, when I can find a location that I can get the 40' rig into.

Kroger for the fuel points, Flying J for the Good Sam discount (that is now more difficult to use, and Costco for the best price without a special discount.

On the road we use Pilot or a similar vendor. At home its usually Arco.

No brand loyalty, only criteria we use is lowest price and ease of entry/exit.

Exactly on ease of entry exit. So many of the stations have the gas lanes set up perpendicular to the store and not enough room to make the turn to left or right if cars are parked in front of the building. This current coach is the first gasser we have ever owned. As we travel I try to make note of stations with ease of entry pumps islands.

Flying J/Pilot mostly for the coach. Flying J has the RV lanes, some Pilots are a little tight.
Kroger/Fry's(etc.) for the car a lot and sometimes the coach. Fuel points are extra fun filling the coach...
Shell for the car mostly (if no Kroger nearby). Have a discount card.
Had a Marathon card for years until they changed their card issuer. Didn't bother to reapply...

I use the Pentagon Federal credit card. It pays 5%, but you must use the card at the pump. I don't use truck stops unless I'm out of options, as they are often 8 -30 cents higher than local stations nearby.

Costco Visa card. Pays 4% on fuel and varying % on everything else. We are getting back $998 for 2019! I use it at Krogers (in the eastern part of the country. Kroger stopped accepting Visa in the Western states) and get points plus CC discount.

We pretty much use Murphy USA (Walmart) for all our fuel needs. Never a problem with the gasoline, they're all over the place, they're almost always cheaper, and they take our 3% on fuel cash back Visa card.
I wouldn't go for a one brand type credit card like Shell or Mobil. Stick to a Visa, MC, or Discover card if you want versatility. Just be sure to do some research to see which gives the best cashback on fuel and all purchases.

Interesting that Kroger or owned locations would not accept a Visa card?

Krogers is slowly getting away from Visa because of the cost to Krogers to to allow the use of VISA. We got caught trying to use the VISA at a Krogers station in one of the Western states last fall. The pump took my Krogers ID card, but them refused the CC. I went up to the young woman behind the glass with the small hole you have to yell through and she informed me they couldn't take VISA any longer.
UPDATE: As I was typing this I decided to Google the Krogers/Visa decision and low and behold it looks like as of October 2019, Krogers reversed their decision and are now accepting VISA again. Here is a link:
