Gas gage

My gas gage is temperamental. It works sometimes but when I drive it goes to full and stays there. My motorhome is a Monaco Cayman 08. Has anybody else had this problem? Because it intermittent I'm thinking it might be a bad ground. Any ideas what might be causing it?

Could be grounding, but that doesn't narrow it down much. The primary question is whether the problem is at the gauge or the sending unit (usually in the fuel tank itself). A bad component or bad wiring at either end can have that symptom. Usually the wiring in between is OK, but it is still conceivable there is a problem there as well.

The fuel gauge sending unit is probably a Centroid,

CENTROID PRODUCTS - Computerized Tank Display - Electronic Senders - capacitive fuel gauges

Here is a calibration guide although this may not be your problem.

I would definitely check the ground on the gauge and the sending unit
