problem is everyone wants more fuel taxes to use where they were not designated.

I usually figure that if gas prices have gone up that some executive needed a new Lamborghini!

It's all BS and for Californians they even voted for higher gas taxes and vehicle registration fees so they get no say in the matter.

Yeah pricing is all contrived. But let's get real. Are you not going to use your RV because prices go up? NO. Not use my 200k RV? No
Gas/diesel is a small expense compared to depreciation, upkeep, food, RV parks, insurance etc.
RV'g is entertainment. Go have fun. Quit worrying. Moving RVs are on the road only 2% or less of the time. Not a big deal.

Every year gas prices go up in the summer, it is to be expected, this is due to a combination of factors, including busier driving season so increased demand, combined with added complexity of summer blends of gasoline to meet environmental compliance requirements. I know it may come as a surprise to many, but gasoline blends vary throughout the year, as well as region to meet EPA requirements, and the spring warming cycle causes a big convoluted mess in gasoline production blending, and reblending.

And yet, RV maufacturers can’t keep up with the demand right now. I just saw a news article the other day that said there were more RVs on the road now than ever.
Don’t get me wrong here, I want gas/diesel prices as low as they can get, but we are spoiled. Think about it. Adjust for inflation and you are paying less, or around the same as a percentage for fuel now than we were 25-30 years ago.
What I hate is when states (and mine is one of the worst for this), attach taxes on gas, which we all must buy, for things that don’t benefit us. And don’t even get me started on mandated ethanol etc.
Oh well, fill up, and roll on!

Sad to say that we are on the list. When I got the registration for the RV after the adjustment, I was surprised it went up that much.
