I'm skeptical - they will milk this as much as they can.
Gas is .76 cheaper in Chattanooga than in the suburb of Chicago where I live.

And you would believe a CNBC article? Really? I hope it turns out to be that way, but what about the other $1.50 price increase? Big wooop. Funny how so many of us so easily get "used" to things that should not be in the first place. And any article, news clipping, survey, etc., involving CNBC is suspect before the ink even dries. Just my HO....

Down by .50c by summer END. Then the climb back to 1.00 more next Easter. Ever notice how the prices keep going upwards even with this downward trend? It will be nice to drop .50cents by summer end. It will be a bargain as we look back.

Opinion only - the oil companies had wanted to get additional money, but knew that congress would get in their face if they outright just raised prices. A few years ago however, a oil/gas pipeline failed in the Arizona area and people in Phoenix saw a price increase of significant proportions. People were paying 4.50 a gallon for gas, because supply was significantly reduced. THIS WAS JUST WHAT THEY NEEDED to get the test market they wanted so they could raise prices and not have the Government on their backs. People gladly paid that price, they had us hooked.

Simple, you will pay whatever it takes to enjoy life, be it $1.00 a gallon or 10 a gallon, you will pay. You might not go as far, and might stay lots longer, but you will pay. If you want oil prices to drop, change your buying habits; don’t buy anything made in china, India, Vietnam, and other countries who are not the US’s ally. This will cause their economies to falter, that oil will then not go overseas, there will be a glut on the worldwide market, and prices will drop. Additionally, one person posted that “where the oil come from” makes a difference, that might be so, but since Chaves controls CITGO, I would avoid those stations as well. According to the climate folks (global warming-who I don’t believe), water will become the most sought after thing within the next 10 years, as more people, and less water, now I don’t necessarily believe this, because all the water that has ever been is still present in one form or another, where that water is constantly changes, because the earth is in constant flux.

Oil goes up $1.00 and fuel goes up .15 cents oil goes down $13.00 and fuel stays the same here in Ky.

I think I'll keep an open mind with this news - but sure hope it will really happen. I still have 3/4 tank of a $2.89/gl gas I filled up last Sept on my MH. Maybe by the time I need to fill up, it goes back down to $2.89 (yeah, right!!)

I do hope you put sta-bil in the fuel tank, if you did not, then do so right now with at least 1.5 times the recommended amount. Then run the engine for at least 20 minutes at above idle speed. This will get rid of the gum the old fuel has deposited in the engine and put the fuel treatment throught the whole fuel system. Then start the generator if its a gas model. Diesel owners need to treat their fuel as well, most trucks stops sell power service fuel treatment, but auto parts stores have a better price on the quart size.

Liter of Diesel went down about 5 Cents here in Chilliwack, BC, if you know where that is. It is slow to come down, with the Oilprices dropping fast.
Those Oilcompanies got hooked on that stuff.

Something stupid is going on. Left Ft. Myers last week gas $3.86 a gal. Got to Brooksville Fl (160 mi) and gas was $3.79. Left Brooksville today and gas was $3.74. Got back to Ft. Myers and it's $3.95!
