We, too, normally drive on the top half of our F150's 36 gallon gas tank, especially out West, when towing our TT. This tends to shorten the time we spend at the gas pump. We then pull away from the pump and try to park out of the way if we need to do anything further. My wife typically goes inside the store if necessary while I pump the fuel. I still move away from the pump if she is not back. This has resulted in some fun conversations a couple of times when she couldn't find me. LOL She now takes her cell phone with her. We prefer Flying Js because they frequently have RV fuel lanes and because we have their RVPlus card and get a seven cents per gallon discount. If no Flying Js we look for Pilots (still get the discount there), TAs and Loves. By driving on the top half of the tank we have plenty of miles left to find what we want. My wife uses the Allstays and IExit apps to find us gas station, etc., and I've recently gotten her to use the Google maps satellite view to check places out ahead of time for space, parking, RV lanes, etc. This all seems to work well for us and is fairly efficient. Our total rig with the truck and 31' (ball to bumper) TT is right at 51', so we do have to be somewhat careful with where we pull into.
