Gas stations on interstate system

I am heading out on my first big trip with my new RV. It's a 21' Shasta Oasis. I'll be getting around 10-11 mpg in my Silverado. We are taking I-90 from Wisconsin to Mt. Rushmore. I'm going to assume there will be plenty of gas stations along the way. My assumptions have burned me before, badly. How are things along I90?

Plenty of opportunities to get fuel. No worries.

You should have no problem but keep tank at least 1/4 full. Been a while but gas stations along the interstate are .. Well, more common than light poles in some areas. (Like every exit, every other one at worst).

There is a book and possible an app The Next Exit

Tells you what to expect at,, well you guessed it, the title of the book.

Download the APP "Gas Buddy" on your cell phone and you will always know where gas is available.

Lots of gas, but the ones on the highway are usually more expensive. They can get away with it because of the convenience.

Here is something that will help you no matter where you travel nationwide. Never worry where to get gas again. Enjoy the new rig.

Best advice - drive on the top half - no worries and you get to stop more often to stretch.

I agree, "Next Exit" is a good investment for your kind of travel. When we found a gas stop that was particularly hospitable (lots of room for access to the pumps, maneuvering and getting back out of the station) we'd highlight that entry for our next trip. The bigger the rig, the more important that becomes.

We've made that same trip from Wisconsin many times and I don't remember getting gas to have been a problem, although once you get a ways from the Mississippi, going west, they are not as closely spaced as you are used to.

X3 on Next Exit. I can't imagine going anywhere without it whether we're in the coach or not. It's just so handy to find what you need and where it is. It lists just about every business within 1 mile of the exit and tells you what direction it's in.

X4 on the Next Exit guide. Apps are good but it's so much easier to read the paper guide (IMHO). Too many screens to read on the smart phone. Any business that has rv parking is printed in RED. It also tells you shopping and anything else right off that exit, rest areas, etc. Available at Amazon, Camping World and many rv parts stores. We also use Gas Buddy, unfortunately we are too big to fit in many fuel stations that may be cheaper. Travel safe!

I use All Stays Truck and Travel APP! You can filter for specific truck stops or leave it unfiltered and see them all. What I really like about it is the ability to zoom in and see the entrance and exits prior to arrival!

I've not had any problem finding gas or diesel anywhere in the U.S. since the "fuel shortage" in the '70s, (when most stations had none to sell).
Traveling then was a real TRIP!

BTW, we still travel the enjoyable relaxing "old fashion" way.....(NO "Gas Buddy", NO "Next Exit", NO apps, NO reservations, NO GPS)...NO PROBLEM!
