Does anyone have an exploded view or online manual or something to show the breakdown of a 4500 output generator. the choke or something or another that is electric isn't pulling on the rod hard enough which in turn isn't closing the intake butterfly enough so it is sucking to much air on startup so it doesn't like to start on its own.... i need this part but i don't know what the heck its called.

thanks in advance, if no replies by friday I will have a picture as i really need this fixed before i hit the road for work when a hurricane hits.

Try here Generac and Guardian Generator parts and maintenance supplies by AP Electric

Scroll down and it will have a link to where you put in your model & serial # to get an owners manual that has the exploded views.

Hope it helps.

I have cured choke and linkage problems by spraying the linkage with carburetor cleaner on my small engines. This might be a cheap first guess at a solution to your generator. Often it takes twice to get rid of the deposits and dirt that cause the problem.

yeah, tried wd40, pb blaster, and then engine degreaser, carb/choke cleaner, dawn soap, and liquid graphite... manually used the crap out of it to really work it all in and to no help it was.....

so i found one on ebay for $15 shipped and should be getting it on my doorstep soon. hopefully that is the problem and not in the electrical as I have no schematics as to how many volts that thing is suppose to be taking in to "pull" the choke.

thanks again everyone for your help!
