Generator breaker tripping
Recently on a 8 hour drive home my top generator breaker tripped 5 times.
We were running both ac's but nothing else.
The MH is in for service right now. Yesterday I talked to the manager at the service center and he told me they have replicated the situation but the breakers don't trip.
Any thoughts on this ?

My thought is this.... it's likely that your generator is NOT capable of running both A/C units at the same time.
If that's the case the solution is this: Only run 1 A/C on generator power.
What is the make/model of your generator and of your A/C units?
(Including pertinent information with a question will help others help you).

Mel makes a good point, not all motorhomes and generators are alike. More info please.

The Gen is a 7.0 Onan.
If this were a size issue the problem would have exhibited itself as soon as we got it.
This is a new problem.

I suppose the gen engine could be bogging down to stall and when recovering, speeds up, causing a surge, that trips the breaker.
Check the gas filter, if it's not recently been changed.

I'll do that.
Clogs can be inconsistent and that would explain why it hasn't failed at the service place.

If you don't have one already than you might want to pick one of these up. Just plug it into any 115VAC outlet and you'll be able to read both the voltage and freq.

I agree with the Kill A Watt. Very handy device.
Also, you might want to check all connections on the Transfer Switch etc. With the Shore Power and generator off of course.

Start capacitor on one of the AC units may be going bad.

Did both A/C's kick off when the fuse blew or just the one? If both shut down then they could both be on the same leg of your 50 amp service.

I didn't notice.
We didn't run the back ac after the second time it tripped so that should ule out the rear ac.
What I have so far is that both ac's cycled on and off at the service center so that seems to rule out either ac as the culprit.
Just a few minutes ago I pull the transfer switch cover to check the lugs. No play was found anywhere.
I'm going to look for some Onan 7000 manuals and maybe change the fuel filter.
Still beating my head against the wall here.
