Having heard many Honda 2000 inverters running in parallel while under load....I can not say my old Onan Marquis Gold 5500 and my current Onan 6500LP are noiser than the 2 in parallel. Maybe I have been lucky to have 2 uncommonly quiet Onans but several of us have walked away from 2 Hondas and listened as well as walking same distance from both my Onans...and the Onans have been quieter.
I do not know if the Onan mufflers on the built in gensets are a product of Onan or the vehicle manufacturer....but I'd much rather listen to either of my Onans than a couple of paralleled Hondas running at load a few spots away from me.
My 3k Honda inverter is FAR quieter than 2 Honda 2K in parallel. Yes it is 1000 watts shy of the 2 in parallel but it is far quieter as well

When portable generator shopping, as a rule of thumb, an increase of 3db sounds twice as loud. This makes the difference between 72db and 75db substantial, especially to your neighbours.

Like most others here, I am a fan of Honda products.
