Generator up and running! Oh happy day :)

A little background...My Onan 7000 generator started smoking (as if something were burning up) in the Bend, Or area a month or so ago having stopped on a very hot day at a rest stop off hwy 97. In a nut shell, the starter would do nothing.

Fast forward to a week or so ago when my son and I finally got around to doing some diagnostics. We determine there was power going to the starter. A little research and I found the correct starter on Amazon Prime. It arrived yesterday. My son installed it today in a little under an hour and the Genny started right up, is running smoothly under our A/C load. My wife who is holed up in a hotel room riding out the heat wave is ecstatic and is looking forward to coming "home".

Oh, and the total cost to repair was $37.00 for the starter and a little good will toward my son! What a great day!!

PS: can't seem to find the answer to the question of....can I run the generator at the same time I am plugged into 115 house service? I have been unable to run the AC off his 115 house service without tripping his breaker.

My transfer switch automatically switches the coach from shore to generator power 30-45 seconds after the generator is started while the coach is connected to shore power.

GFCI? Backfeed because of slow or bad transfer switch? Check the voltage at the plug end while the genny is running.
