Generators and Surge Guards

I have purchased a surge guard for when we are plugged in at a campground. What do we need to do to protect appliances when we are drying camping and use the LP generator? Also, should I use the surge guard when we are plugged into an outlet at home?

You should use the surge guard when you're plugged into any shore power.

I don't worry about my generator spiking power.

i installed my surge protector in front of the generator AND shore power. Both go through my 50ems.

If you are plugging into anything to power your rig, use the surge guard. What's to say the generator looses rpm and creates brown out condition...that will affect your rig if you don't have protection. Mine protects from spikes, reverse polarity and low voltage.
