North Carolina elected officials decided many years ago the NCDOT had too much money so they began transferring DOT funds to the general fund. Now demand for gas and revenues to the DOT from gas taxes are down so there are rumblings from the state capital about raising fuel taxes while the prices are down...just like the folks in DC.

They just don't understand, believe we are too stupid to care or both.
