We use the PenFed CC for all fuel/food and travel. 5% fuel and 3% food discounts and 1% everything else. I also carry a Chase debit card to get cash from thier ATMs but have never used it when traveling. We also have not carried a CC balance in 25 years or any other debt in 15 years.

I have one Visa credit card and use it everywhere, pay it off each month. The only exception(s) to this is where there is a lower price for cash/debit, or the purchase price is less than say $10. Typically carry less than $100 in cash at anytime.

We use a cash rewards CC for everything. I keep track of our expenditures, and of course, pay it off every month. I'm not interested in a Debit card. It's one more card to keep track of, and as mentioned, you need to keep funneling money into the account. We recently received Debit cards in the mail "out of the blue". I shredded them,,,,not interested.

No one has been able to tell me the attraction to a debit card. I only see negatives. My bank (almost all banks) carry debit cards but can't tell me even ONE advantage without loosing the protection I get with a CC.
GWinger.
Depends on where u get your DC. My credit union protects my DC the same as my CC. I pay everything either online or by CU bill pay
