Girard Awning

Does anyone have a rough idea of what it would cost to buy & install a Girard awning. The Carefree I have now is about useless as it provides about 3' of shade (under ideal conditions).

Unless you have a roof mounted awning now, installing one where none existed would be near impossible due to the mounting structures that are built into the roof framing during manufacturing.

Probably in the neighborhood of $5K if you go to a dealer.

Here is what we did:
We called the Girard factory in CA and ask about a "freight damaged" awning. We went to the factory and looked over the supply of damaged awnings and found one with minimal damage. It was sent out for repair and paint, it came back to them to match the coach fabric and it was installed on the coach. We put a separate awning over the door, all of them painted to match the coach for $4k which was 1K less than the factory installed single awning. Both were wired for auto retract.

You don't have to have anything special in your coach for installation. They look at your inside cabinets to see where they can drill through the walls and install the mounting brackets. You could wind up with a nice long awning like we did

This was back in '05 so the prices might have changed. Girard is an excellent company to work with.
