That would be a violation of the US copywrite laws, keeping the original is usually not.

I haven't seen it since my mail goes to my mail forwarding Co. On one of these posts I read that this was the first DVD in a series. IF... we don't send the first one back can they say that we consented to receive more? AND, can they then legally charge us?

Another thought. GS will have to pay for the return postage on all sent back. Just revenge might be getting LOTS of them back and helping support USPS.

Got mine today, it is already in the envelope to send back. It does state that you can consider it a free gift.... which means you can keep it. HOWEVER, IMHO this would not be the thing to do as I am believe you will get another one unless you check the box on the return form to not send any more.

They don't won't the DVD holder.. so send the DVD back, pull the paper out of the holder and just figure they have sent you a free DVD holder to put something else in!

I looked through it and found very little that I didn't already know, so I decided to return it. Before I did, I checked whether it was copy protected and was surprised to find that it wasn't

If you want to violate what a poster on another forum described as "copywrite" laws, you could copy it to your own DVD, then return it. You wouldn't get any of the follow-ons, but I was disappointed in the "Rube Goldberg dumb-butt" assumption about the intended audience.

I don't need to pay $12.95 three or four times to be insulted.

How much do you normally pay?

Take your junk mail and open, keep the prepaid return envelope and tear up everything else, put it in the envelope and send it back to them

They will get the hint!

That won't work with Good Sam Richard, I have been doing that with thier mail for years, and still get the stuff on a regular basis. I think they must have an unlimited mail advertising budget.

Once you have done business or are still doing business with a company it is hard to stop the junk mail. Over the past year we have just about stopped all our junk mail and now I am working on my 80+ year old mom and dad....

Here are some links that will help you:

https://www.dmachoice.org

Do-it-yourself: Stop junk mail, email and phone calls

How to Stop USPS Junk Mail | eHow.com

http://www.ecofuture.org/jmusps.html

One other tidbit of info... The post office throws away bulk mail it can't deliver, so returning it does no good. However, if "address correction requested" is written on the label: circle "address correction requested" and treat like first class mail.

If I remember the U.S. copyright laws correctly, they state you may copy any copyrighted/patented material for your strict personal use, and educators may do the same for strictly educational use. The one big exception is encrypted satellite broadcasting. (gotta love our congress)
If I get one who knows what will happen to it; first they gotta prove I received it, and if it does not arrive by certified/registered/ or any other tracking means they have no way to prove receipt by the addressee. U.S.P.S. does not track every item like UPS or FEDEX.

You think you are getting mail now, wait until you load the DVD and it sends out your IP address to Good Sams. Let the adware begin.

I am always surprised at how many get their jockeys in a twist over Good Sam. Every time Good Sam comes up, folks can't stand their mailers or maketing or this or that. Would we all be better off without them ? I sort of doubt it.
Just wondering !!
