If I remember right, the last 'extended warranty' that we bought was about $4500.00 for five years. It might be high but, considering the cost of engine/tranys I felt the cost was worth it. Our last 'first' extened warranty cost us about $2500.00 and paid most of a $6000.00 radiator repair bill. So for us it was worth the cost. Yes there was the requirement to have the failure inspected, and that did add a couple days, but still worth it.

I am buying a Dutch Star 4086 with 16000 miles and wondering about a plan. Would like info on USA Travel Care as they are the lowest at 6000.00for a 5 year plan. GS is a little over 2000. a year for perhaps the same thing. USA is supposed to cover everything, with of course does not include nornal wear and tear. A service teck suggested I run, he does not think it is necessary!

Surge Protector

Does anyone have experience with using a 50a surge protector in line with your plug in power cord? Are they really needed?
