Use the search feature towards the top of the page and search for extended warranty. Tons of information.

Here is one thread I started
Opinions of these Service Contract Providers

Personally I didn't care for Good Sam as it was an inclusionary policy vs. an exclusionary policy.

And look out for the "if a non-covered part causes a covered part to fail then neither part is covered" clause.
Seals are rarely covered unless you pay extra, so if a front main seal leaks causing the engine to seize up you have no coverage at all unless you take the option.
There was also a case where the trans went out, the insurance co asked for the maintenance records and found he was 700 miles past due on an oil change. They denied coverage for the trans for that. I think they just refunded his purchase price on the policy.

Mr_D makes a good point, look for a policy that offers a consequential damages rider (this for the non-covered part causing a covered part failure of vice versa). CSI is one company that offers this rider. CSI can be purchased through BNT Marketing or Wholesale Warranties. GO RV Warranty also offers a policy with the consequential damages waiver.

If you need contact information for any of these let me know.

Another thing to remember is that they are NOT "warranties", they are "service contracts". Here in WA that's the law too. As with all contracts you must follow all the 6pt type to retain coverage. They can, and usually will, use anything they can to void the coverage. They usually require that a shop phone first for the OK to proceed, sometimes you have to pay upfront for an inspection. You and your rig might be waiting for an inspector to show up which might be two weeks or so. Not good if you're on vacation with a tight schedule.

I have never purchased an extended warrantly on anything, but I think these guys gave you good info. There are to many loopholes in any extended warranty policy. I read Good Sams policy info last yeat. I thought it was a seriously over priced joke.
Remember, the odds are in their favor, not yours, its an insurance policy in reality.

While I do not disagree with the above opinions, I do have the Good Sam Extended Service Policy. I do have my service done at Cummins, Freightliner or Camping World service facilities so that I do have a documented history and I do follow the mainentance schedules which is easier when you full time as we do. I have had a couple of times that the policy was needed. Yes, the shop had to call in first, but the OK was given immediately and everything went smoothly. I'm do not regret having it and I hope to make little use of it so that it will be a poor investment. Problems certainly can arise when Good Sam's protocol is not followed.

I am a retired trucker, I also spent many years as a salesmanager for a Ford Dealership and motorcycle dealership. I also spent several years in the consumer finance business. In a auto and motorcycle dealership, many times the dealers commision on insurance sales and exteneded warranty sales, actually exceeded the profit on the vehicle sale.

Extended warrantys are not designed for your advantage, they are a revenue enhanser for the dealership and service agent.

Certainly there may come a time that you wished you had this warranty, but the law of averages are in the service providers advantage. I would be self inssured. Also way to many loopholes in these policies. Good Sam is the only one I have read, It was very poor and expensive. old trucker.

Put the money that you would pay for an extended warranty in your savings account, then divide the annual premium for the extended warranty by 12 months, place that monthly total into your savings each month. Historically and statistically you will come out ahead.
