Does the card offer the “start the pump” feature?
No. Unfortunately, this benefit was misused by some, so now, much like the RV and Auto lanes, payment authorization is required before fuel may be pumped." To me payment authorization means cash in advance,or use CC at pump or inside prepay charge.

My PFJ card doesn't work now, I was told to use my Good Sam membership card instead.

I wonder if you have the old fj card. We have the Orange card that gives us 3 cents off. It worked for us in January .

I used my Flying J RV Plus card twice in the last two weeks, at the RV pumps, got a nickel per gallon discount with no issues or problems. And I didn't go inside

Well fudge, I shredded my FJ card after they told me it wouldn't work, to use my GS card instead.

As a Good Sam member, going through Good Sam gets you a discount per gallon. As a life member I get 8 cents off per gallon for every gallon of diesel I buy at PFJ. And this discount comes off the cash price!

I swipe my RV Plus card at the pump, pump my diesel, then leave. The only caveat is that each month the total must be paid. Since I do not have the auto pay feature enabled, my credit limit is $1000.

Call the number on your card and ask that Pilot Flying J increase your limit. They doubled my limit without missing a beat.

my card works but their prices are typically higher than other stations. with a 3% cashback on Amex I am better off not going to Flying J.

I'm not sure if it's still offered, but the 5% cashback Discover card is nice.

That's about $12-$14 cash back every time I fill up the coach, (any gas station that accepts Discover).

Update

I successfully used my old Flying J RV Real Value Member (non-credit type) card at the FJ in Lordsburg, NM and got $.05 discount.

Also successfully used my Good Sam Swipe and Save card at the FJ in Ft. Stockton, TX and got $.03 discount.

"Successfully" means both cards activated the pumps with no need to go inside. No problem with $ limit filling up.

Steve
