Good Sam / Rand McNally

stay away.

over the last 3 months we have had nothing but issues.

turns out the unit is a refub. unit camping world did not tell me that. now three months out of warr. rand say 100 bucks to fix even though the problems started while under warr.

yes the issues were doced by rand while under warr.

Another Camping World horror story. It seems they have become to much profit oriented at the cost of losing customers. At this rate, the thread stating Camping World could be filling bankruptcy could become a reality. Good CEO's and managers will always find the balance between profit and good customer service. It appears Camping World is losing sight of what important. Customers made your company, customers will be the ones that destroy it!

I'm sure Camping World has treated a lot of customers in a fair and generous manor. It's just most people will only write and complain about a horrible or bad customer experience. But, there is something to be said when Camping World employees mislead or flat out lie about a service or product.

If I were you, I would take this matter to corporate headquarters. If I'm not satisfied with a store rep. I will move on up the food chain until someone gives me a satisfactory answer. If not, then we will move on to the court system, and have a third party decide who is right or wrong.

Good Luck, don't let it die, stand up for what is right. Compromises are good things.

What Joe said.
Not surprised that CW is failing. I was totally turned off when the CEO started spouting off on politics soon after he took over. I don't/won't shop there anymore.

My RM GPS was giving me fits. It would not switch to night shade, it would not display speed, it would hang up and get lost. I called RM and they had me reload the software. So far, so good. The trip planner is a bit wonky, but ok.

My RVND 7730 was bought in 2008, it was sold with lifetime maps. The maps have not updated in over 3 years. I called RM to inquire why and was told by the man that what I had was the latest update. When I asked why I was then told my GPS was obsolete and would not receive another update. I then asked about the lifetime maps and he asked "just how long do you think a lifetime is?". To that I replied, the lifetime of the GPS unit.
The conversation went downhill after that; plus he rejected my request to speak to a U.S.A. based technician. (which is against current laws)
This upcoming black Friday I'll be buying a Garmin GPS.

Been emailing with Rand McNally and they say a map update is coming by end of year for my 7720.

"Lifetime maps" means you get whatever maps are available for free during the unit's lifetime. It does not mean they WILL produce map or software updates continuously during that time.

I understood yearly map updates, when I purchased. Not sure I could find that reference now, but it does warn me when my map are over a year old.

I'm sure Camping World is at fault for it getting sent to the wrong address. I am realizing RVers never make a mistake.
