Sorry but they were not. If you saw towables parked behind the facility, those were vendors. Towables were not invited to Albany.

The birth of the organization started with a small group of people that just happened to have self contained RV's,the rest is history.
If you look at the past 2 or 3 Rallies. They have been touted as Family A'fairs and Families with 5er's and TT's have been allowed to take part in the events.
Maybe not well publicized, but there just the same.
Families with friends that own Class B, C and A Coaches could get together at FMCA Rallies.
They are testing the waters at the time, not going to say all are in favor.
This is going to be a process and just because one does not have a self contained unit, should not peclude other Campers from taking part in the seminars and visit venders and mix with other like minded families.
This could be interesting to watch from the inside.

Dick.
There is no "testing of the waters". Towables were allowed at Perry as an experiment. This was brought up in the Governing Board meeting held in Madison,WI in August. It was voted to not allow towables at future international conventions. Each individual area may vote to allow towables at their rally's but this is not set in stone. FMCA is open to class A, B, and C motorcoaches.

FMCA is into family. At Madison, there were probably 100+ kids there and they were kept busy doing kid stuff. They elect their own officers just like the grownups. I don't remember seeing them sitting around "texting", they were always busy. They put together a video of their activities during the convention which was played during the meeting. I must say it was excellent

Of course I do, but people were complaining about not being able to join FMCA if they had a towable. I pointed out that FMCA was charted as a Motor Coach club.

I understand the technical differences between towables and a MH. Where I am confused is the family part. If the idea is to support families being together, I would suggest that you cant be more together than 2 adults with 4 kids in the back seat of a pick up truck.

Not lobby either way. I truly believe you can create an organization to be what ever you choose. Free enterprise, huge fan and supporter.

Didn't realize when I joined it was for MH only, would not have a made a difference if i had. I joined for a couple of the benefits that were offered.

Just confused on what the difference in family togetherness is between a MH and say a 5er.

My reason for a class C then a Class A, 1) really like the looks, 2) the ability to use the kitchen while traveling for a sandwich or fresh coffee and #) having the bathroom available while travling down the road.
