I just use a Procter Silex one cup and the coffee my wife buys.. I'd rather buy my own slightly more expensive but hey.. I keep whole beans for back up, k Just in case I run out (or get tired of what she buys)

We bought one of those Coffee things that you put the cartridge (for lack of a better word) in and push the button an out comes coffee. A little more expensive but fast and that is what you want in the morning.

If it is like the one we just bought, it is a Keurig. Expensive thing but I love it! We got all different kinds of coffee, Chai and teas. It came with a seperate little container that allows the use of any kind of coffee/tea besides the (expensive) little pots. We found the best deals on the pots at Ace Hardware of all places. Safeways has some that are not tooooo expensive. We will be taking this thing along with us when we go south in November.

Most of these newfangled gizmos don't give me my daily adult requirement of coffee grounds in the cup. Nothing to munch on, except that funny little canister which is nothing to write home about.

Mike, try opening the little canister and pouring a few grounds into your cup. Really, some of the best coffe I've ever had was by pouring the grounds into a sock and boiling the devil out of it. Taste came from how long one had worn the sock.

Mike in my early camping days ( Boy Scouts ) we boiled water in the pot, poured in the coffee let it come to a boil and to get the grounds to the bottom we removed a burning stick from the fire and stuck it in the pot for a second.

When I have the time I like to use an old fashioned perculate over the campfire coffee pot that I bought from Cabellas. It does about 12 cups in 30 minutes. But normally that takes to long so I just plug in one of those little 2 cup auto drip ones you can buy anywhere. Maxwell house is still the best but I like Dunkin Donuts brand when I feel nostalgic for my days on the mid night shift.

I love good coffee and my electric peculator is the only thing I use at the house or in my RV. The automatic Mr. Coffees don't make it strong enough. If you buy a good one the 10 cup one is done in 10 minutes. I buy Maxwell house or Folgers and mix in a little Spanish coffee. Nothing like it.

Flavored whole bean, ground fresh each pot, flavored syrup and creamer, just put Starbucks out of business. Not the ole GI black coffee, but things are slower now, enjoying the day.

We have a Keurig also. Picked up 2 of the "Use your Own" inserts. We use Yuban and make it as strong as we want. Great and quick.

Mr. Coffee 3 minute, and Keurig for the quick pick-er-upper.

Dunkin Donut whole bean we grind in a burr grinder so we can set the coarseness, slightly past medium to the coarse side.

I've done the old sock routine, hand full of grounds in boiling water, egg shells---and I was too young and impressionable to admit it taste like, socks, shells and grounds----

Keurig for us------fresh, flexible if you have guest and one wants tea, the other hot chocolate, one decaf the other strong another prefers mild----etc. a modest amount of time spent and everyone gets what they want and I am left with a pot that does not need cleaning---ready to go when I am---incidently this is me not my DW---talkin'---even a guy can do this------------.

as I posted on the Blog. I buy green beans, roast them at home and grind them fresh prior to brewing.
