Howdy!
Nope, its not worth the junk mail. We're fulltimers and I tried for years (calling, e-mailing, even returning the junk etc...) and could not get it to stop. Finally called them one day after receiving our mail forwarded to us with mothing but Goodsam junk mail and told them we quit send us a refund. I've found I now save more money in not having to pay to have their junk mail forwarded than I receved in their discount. We also dropped GS ERS and now have Coach Net which I've found to be a much better ERS service.

Lots of folk swear by GS Club. I'm with the group that swear at them.
The junk mail will drive ya nutz. More often than not, the discount at campgrounds disappears for some reason,... it's a weekend or the wrong weekend or whatever.
You can get a discount on what you buy from Camping World but they make up the discount by charging you more in the first place.
Long story short, I wouldn't accept a FREE membership.

camping world discount brings elevated prices down to ok.
the junk mail/email is unbearable.
the whole good sam man with halo thing makes me want to retch.
their support staff are pleasant enough.
rv sales experience was worse than terrible.
unless they have a store in your neighborhood - don't bother.

Everyone has their own opinions about Good Sam. I for one like it and have been a member for years. I just renewed this past Weds. and right now they have a $25 refund if you stay at a GS park. So, the membership ends up costing $0. Since I also make purchases from Camping World, it saves a little money there as well. But it is like other memberships, if you do not use it you don't save anything. Since I regularly stay at CG's that honor GS, I save that 10%. Over the year that alone more than pays for membership. But in the end, it is up to each individual to decide if it is worth it.

As I stated before, I have tried all of the suggestions for eliminating the junk mail including personal email to Marcus Lemonis. Good Sam starting notifying me last year that my membership was about to expire, it actually expires the end of September. I guess they need the early payment to support the junk mail program. I will continue to renew for the 10% off at RV Parks.

Ditto yes. I've saved cost of lifetime membership (veteran rate) in 1 year of camping. Downside? ?

Don't you know you will eliminate unwanted mail from GS simply by clicking the appropriate box on their website. It takes about a month for all mail to stop.Took us a year to discover it though.

1. Good Sam
2. FMCA
3. Passport America
4. Newmar Kountry Klub (owners club)
5. RV/MH Museum & Hall Of Fame
Then I have:
1. KOA Value Card
2. Cummins Power Club
3. Club Yogi
4. Encore Royalty Club
5. America The Beautiful Senior Pass (62+ free entry to National Parks)
Unlike others, I do not get junk mail from any of these organizations. There are more, but I forget them at the moment. The point of this is if you use the membership, go for it.

Gary plse tell me about the encore royalty club thanks

Passport America is by far the best discount program, in my opinion.

Good Sam offers quite a lot.....If you live in the USA.
Canadians only qualify for membership and Emergency Road Service.
We cannot get insurance, financing, warranties, etc.
I stay a member just for the ERS. We only have BCAA and that is very
expensive and is also very limited as to towing, etc.
I had to use the road service once and the towing cost(s) were over $1600.
Glad I did not have to pay that.
I also have Passport America for the campground fees.

PyrateSilly, if you don't have GS, what do you use for roadside assistance?
When looking at GS's site, to a newbie it's rather confusing.
Seems like they have an ala cart menu. Coach Net seems more straight forward but there are others I haven't looked at yet.

I sure appreciate all the input and opinions here. Still haven't decided whether to get it or not, or go with another recommendation, but your feedback has been useful.
