We did the Grand Canyon last year at Easter and got snow the day we drove in and then t-shirt weather the rest of the week. We were surprised to find that we barely had enough time to see everything. Make sure you ride the shuttle from your campsite to see a sunset. Leave early because quite a crowd gathers. If you are staying in the only campground in the park (forgot the name) you'll find it sparse, but sufficient as a home base.
One other tip, as you turn off the main highway toward the park, drive in a ways to get fuel. We fueled upat the cut-off and got scr_wed on the price (Mobil Station). It was cheaper at the little town just before the park. There is also a 3-D movie in the town that was pretty good along with a steak joint across the street.
