Back to the OP question, the Skywalk was a very expensive venture! Was it worth it? You be the judge? Check out the grins on my wife and MIL faces!

The hike up didn't bother us as much as the hike down. The pounding on the knees and ankles took it's toll on us. Could barely get up off our bed mats the next morning. The hike up the previous year was all cardio, and we were pretty well conditioned for it. Plus, we had already been hiking in the Canyon for 5 days by that time, instead of starting out fresh.

Last time we were there it cost nothing, just like what there was to see.
The skywalk is not anything that interests us, never wanted to go there. The rest of the Grand Canyon (both sides) is fascinating, especially if you use binoculars to see the canyon floor, and the other formations.

Shouldn't that be Utah instead of Wyoming?!?

One of the many TV channels owned by Discovery had a special this past Sunday on building the Skywalk. I was channel surfing during a game half time and only watched a couple minutes. The 'mechanics' of the build were interesting so maybe next time - unless there is a more interesting game that is
