Grease Relief?

This is probably a silly question, but as a newbie, I'm not really sure how veterans handle it.

When you cook or grill and you end up with a pan or dirty grill, what do you do with the greasy grime? Now I'm not talking about oil you can filter and save, I'm talking about the "gunk" that you need to dispose of. At home, I'd crank up the hot water and run it through the garbage disposal. Here, I'm not about to run it down the drain into my gray water tank. The only thing I've come up with is to wash or clean the pan and then toss the dirty greasy water into the woods....but I don't think that's what everyone else does. How do you handle the gunk?

We wipe out the pan and plates with a paper towel and then wash with Dawn Dish soap as usual. I wouldn't throw greasy water in the woods. We also clean the gray and black tank twice a year with Dawn.

We let grease cool then using a can or sandwich bag, freeze it until we reach a commercial or campground dumpster.

Yer you probably don't want to do that eithier, especaily if you are responsible for unblocking sewers running through your property.

Definitely don't dump it down your drain - in the RV or at home.
Definitely don't dump it outside or in the fire ring.

Do start saving coffee cans and use the can for the grease, bits of gunk, greasy paper towels that you used and basically, garbage. You could also use a used baggie, as mentioned above.

I keep a jar in the fridge to pour grease into. When full, I simply dispose of it in the trash. I always take paper towels and wipe excess grease from the pan. Dawn dish soap is what I use to wash my dishes and also put in the grey tank a couple times a year.

That's our method also. We keep about 3 empty coffee cans in the MH specifically for this purpose.

Critters need to eat too! Just hope that it doesn't attract a big enough critter that might just eat you!
