Thought I would pass this along. I was in a boating store recently and saw MaryKate On & Off on a shelf so for $10, I took one home to see how it might handle some of the more stubborn stains we pick up. It's designed to remove water line stains, alge and rust from the bottom of fibreglass boats without harming the graphics or fibreglass.

It's nasty stuff (recommend wearing rubber gloves when using) but man, it works unbelievable. Our metal cove connecting the roof to the rain gutter/sidewalls is forever looking crungy because of all the sand and rain in Florida.

An application of this stuff with a non abrasive sponge took the crud off easier than anything I've used. It also works wonders on plastic insert moldings which have a tendancy to discolor or get moldy over time.

Think this stuff will work to remove bugs? Do you have to reapply a protectant like Protect All or 303 Aerospace after using?

Thanks for the info - always looking for things that make trailer maint easier.

Hi Don, I discovered the same thing when I checked the link right after I made the post. Don't have a clue where that came from. It's working OK now.

I never gave a thought about bugs. Now wouldn't that be a hoot if it works!

The gang here will put you up for sainthood!

After I treat with On & Off, I resurface the area with Gel Gloss which I use on the sidewalls twice a year.

On the end caps I use Protect all's Fiberglass Oxidation Remover and Color Restorer. Both items are available at Camping World.

For bug removal try used bounce fabric softner sheets. Dip them in water and bugs scrub away with minimal effort. Sounds wild, but it works. I can clean heavy bug coating from front of motorhome in about 10 minutes. Last week front of white car was black with bugs after trip to MN. Came off quickly and easily with bounce.

Another use for Bounce!
We have used bounce fabric softner sheets for years to prevent rodents and moths from our RV.

Another way to use Bounce or any other brand of dryer sheet is to put one in a spray bottle, shake it up and spray area desired. BTW, it really does not matter if the dryer sheet is new or has already been used for its original purpose, i.e. of being put through the dryer-so you can be recycling them and get the bugs off, Ken Roberts,'04 DSDP...
