grey/black tank cable valve change ?

hi all,
my 5'er has the type of dump valves that are actuated by pulling a handle
attached to the valves by cable.

Cables have always been a problem and now they won't open/close.
I've taken the belly pan down and i tried to reattach them...ng cables keep coming out of valve.

so i put one of the replacement valves on the end the dump end and this works
ok, but i'm concerned that the black will eventually be a problem as the original valves are always open....whew

so...is there anything else i can do ?

thanks

Lubing the cables is a problem unless one direction is continually down-sloped so the lub will slowly run down along the cable and housing. The best solution is replacing the cables, which can be quite difficult for some installations.
I use Liquid Wrench on cables, but if the housing is rusted, no lube works perfectly.
