I'd sure like to read about that- does anybody have a link to news reports, etc?
Or maybe some more specific details...
I can't find anything using the info provided.
Thanks!

Thanks, Chasfm
That's really an awful story...
It'd sure be interesting to know if those poor folks were carrying guns for their own protection.
Does anybody know if the (caught) bad guys have been charged with those murders?
Seems like more details about the victims/killers encounter would be coming out then...

Yes, they were caught but I don't have those links available. They initially caught one of the escapees and then the other escapee and his girlfriend. There was originally concern that the last two were going to make a fire fight out of an attempt at capture but that didn't happen.
It was a terrible story. And there is no guarantee that anything would have saved the RV couple. The escapees were really bad guys and most people cannot imagine other people being like that, let alone having to fight for their lives with that kind of evil.
I'm pretty sure we stayed in a CG near where that happened on one of our trips.

Yes they have been charged the escapee and the girl friend both. They never said if the RVers were caring a gun but everyone I ever met in an RV is super friendly so I am sure they had no idea what was about to happen. I don't know if the case has been settled.

Thanks, guys.
Those people that died were us.
I don't know whether I feel sorrier for them or for myself...

Paul R. Haller;971024] Did you also know that alcohol abuse and cigarette smoking are statistically much more likely to occur when a person has 1 or more registered guns? I'm not saying that one leads to the other just that they share a personality trait associated with risky behavior. No surprise there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They also have alot more nose hair and tend to walk stooped over and limp. The stooped over part and the limp come from carrying very heavy side arms.
I remember that when I went to the range to quilify with my M1 when I was in the Army, I had an instant urge to start drinking and smoking. I never realized it was all because of that darned M1

Just two points I'd like to make.
If making guns illegal would stop killings then making spoons illegal will keep people from being fat.
I am the weapon, whatever I might might have with me is just a tool to make me a bit more effective at stopping the threat.
Always Vigilant.
