Actually, I am originally from Rochester NY. Then moved to Los Angeles in 1993 to work in the film industry. Once I retired early in 2009, I took on my oldest son's address for our domicile which is now in Anchorage. I also have one younger son living in Fairbanks. I spent the summer there in 2010 and will be back next May to spend the summer again in 2012.
The drive to and from Alaska is just as awesome as traveling around the state. We will be seeing other parts this coming spring as we are coming from Florida this time instead of California.
Regarding the fire suppression systems, if you do a iRV2.com search, you will find many informative threads and photos, some that are mine to read. There are a few choices and methods to use.
I now have a small peace of mind knowing that I should have extra time to get the hell out before anything serious could happen. I look at it as some cheap insurance. It is certainly better than not doing anything at all.
