Just bought a used travel trailer. New to RV'ing. I want to replace some of the hardware such as door handles ,cargo door holders etc....they have some mildew on them and I cant seem to get it cleaned off. The question I have is when taking off the old fixtures I noticed a putty or caulk type substance in the screw holes. What is the best thing to replace this with? Is it just RV silicone caulk? Thanks in advance. I sure I will have many more questions

Welcome Audixie to irv2.
Most good RV supply stores can get you replacement parts. You may have to bring one in for reference so they can match up for new one or order.
They also have a ribbon caulk that can be dress arounf the new parts or window frames if need be.
There are Venders on irv2 that can help you out also.
Good luck with your adventure and welcome to RVing.

I use Dicor sealant for most of my repairs including the roof. There are some other brands just as good and you can get the sealant at most RV supply houses. Don't forget Camper World.

If you can't get the parts from the vendors you might try an RV salvage yard that is close to you. If your close to Florida I know of one. Just let me know that you want the location. Nerver been there but I thought I might camp close and see what they have.

Welcome to the forum.
