I don't know why, but whenever I use a dump station in a campground (especially a state park) there doesn't seem to be a trash container or dumpster for disposing your latex gloves, tank treatment/deodorizer container, bottle, envelope, etc. or any other trash you may have. On many occasions I end up taking these items home and disposing them there.

Has anyone else made this observation or are they cleverly disguised as a tree or something and I'm not seeing them?

Yep, I've noticed. And since the dump station is the last place ya visit before exiting, there aren't any dumpsters to put your gloves/Clorox wipes in on the way out. My job is to meet Dave at the door w/the plastic grocery shopping bag so he can dispose of those items & we, too, end up bringing them home to dispose.

I've noticed that too when we're travelling and using some state parks without FHU. But lately I've noticed that some of the SP here in WA and OR do have trash cans in their dumpsites.

You should let them know there is not one there and that it is needed.

Hunting Island SP has containers for vinyl/rubber glove disposal at both dump stations. I believe that is the first place I have ever seen trash specific containers.

Many local/state/fed parks have taken the stance that "You brought it in, you take it out". This may be partially in response to severe budget cuts. In some of the parks here in SC, they provide bathrooms for the day guests, but don't provide towels to dry your hands. In addition, the moment you place a trash can at the dump site for the gloves, etc, it will quickly be filled with beer cans, garbage, etc. So follow the example above from NLOVNIT, and be prepared to take them with you.

Most or a large majority of SP's and COE parks I've visited here in Texas provide either dumpsters or trash cans at their dumpstations. And most but not all provide a rinising hose with the end connector attched so you can rinse your tanks. Same with the SP's I've visited in Arkansas.
