Has This Ever Happened?
We went to Asheville for the weekend. Last night, about 11:30, someone knocked on my camper door, waking us up
It was one of the CG workers asking if I could move my truck temporarily while another camper tried to shoe horn his 5er into a very tight spot around a tree!
I woke up enough to take my truck around our section.
The gentleman was not having a lot of luck in the dark.
After about 5 minutes, they gave up and decided to try from the other way to avoid the tree.
Would you have complained?
I am going to mention it when I do my review.
By the way, we were at the KOA in Swannanoa, just east of Asheville.

Seems if you had your vehicle making it difficult, then waking you was the only solution.
Perhaps that could be a lesson for you.

But he still couldn’t back around the tree after I moved my truck. He had to turn around and try from the other direction.

Happened to me twice! Pull into crowded Rv park and had to ask the neighbors to move or park their vehicles without hogging the roadway.

No I wouldn't have complained. Rather move it and hopefully make his life a little easier. What if he would have hit your truck? You probably would have said, Why didn't you ask me to move!

I have seen it from the other side. WE were leaving camp early (8am) however two of our neighbors had parked their truck so that they stuck out into the road preventing me from driving past to exit the park.
I had to wake them both up and the words I heard could curl your toes. But the did get out and moved their trucks. If they had parked correctly in the first place it could all have been avoided.
Sometimes common camping courtesy is not so common.

If your truck was parked all the way on your site and out of the roadway then you shouldn't have been woken up!
The office should have directed the late-comer to a spot by the office or to another area to spend the night and deal with his parking problems the next morning.
If, however, your truck was off your campsite or into the road, then yes, you should have been asked to move it.

Thanks for all your responses!
My truck was off the road and on my space.
I agree that they should have been given a spot elsewhere, or had them come in the other way.
The way they had them come in was near impossible to back into without moving mine and another vehicle. Been a truck driver for 20+ years, and that was a humdinger to back into the way he was trying!
But they backed in just fine coming in the other way.
One last thing.
I saw the guy this morning as we were packing up. Not a peep out of him!
Maybe he was embarrassed, but I would have apologized if I had woken another camper to try and park my rig!
Night all!

Don't sweat the small stuff, and this definitely qualifies as SMALL stuff! No one was hurt, no property was damaged, and you neighbor who was probably tired from a long drive ended up parked in in the correct spot . . . . Life is too short to worry about the small stuff!

You don't wake people up at 11:30 pm unless it's an emergency , He should have at least tried to back in the other way before getting you out of bed.I would consider it very rude for the campground manager to do so and would complain about it .I have never tried to check in a campground at that time of night and wouldn't just out of respect for those sleeping .Its like you don't run your gen after hours thing that parks have posted as quite hours , wake my old butt up at 11:30 and you can bet you will hear some grumpy old man words ............

I have a class C which is usually on leveling blocks, so I wouldn't move. one thing I've noticed in the 6 months I've been using my RV is trailers can back up way more sharply and into tighter spaces than I can get my class C. not sure if 5th wheel backup like trailers ?
