The key is to clean bugs off and not allow them to sit for long and you have to clean bugs off the windshield anyway. Not hard to clean the painted surfaces at the same time. Dryer sheets work well to get most of the bug splat off and follow up with a mix of car wash and bug wash, then rinse with fresh water. I keep the wash solution in a covered bucket in the basement and it keeps for a month or so. I fill a second bucket with plain water and use a soft brush to rinse; never use the hose unless I am washing the entire coach. Takes 5 minutes and 2 gallons of water.

Florida coaches probably don't need film or bras. They are not really for bugs since most bugs are not big and hard enough to damage anything. Never had a bug crack my windshield yet. The little ol' love bugs won't do anything other than be a pain. However, in much of the country, gravel and stones are a serious problem which is why mud flaps and/or protection for toads are such in demand. I am from SW Colorado. I have replaced my coach windshield since I bought my coach two years ago because Geico said it had too many dings and had to be replaced. Every year I repaired dings in my car windshld and every 5 years it was time for a new one.
I have a real love/hate relationship with the DuraShield on my coach. I will need to replace it in a couple/few more years. But, I won't have to repaint the front of my coach.
