Was riding the ferry out to Okracoke Island a few years back and saw a white jeep stuck in sand on shore. The guy was shoveling like mad but the tide had already risen above the floor line. Couldn't get ashore to help him.

Maybe he was in financial trouble and was in a position where he thought it best to "sell" it back to his insurance company! Then all those darned busybodies in trucks with tow straps showed up, and once again, a good plan foiled by do gooders!

Lol.
My wife wanted to drive on sand at the Outer Banks. She was able to see ponies and Currituck running radar on the sand. She wasn't disappointed by the experience.
