Help downsizing
Hi All -
I am new to this site and am excited to be a part of this RVing community. As an experience RVer, over 35 years from tenting to Class A pushing, it has been a great journey. I have a quick question that I am hoping someone can help with - I am currently looking to sell my 43 ft diesel pusher and downsize, what the best way to do this? RVtrader/dealer/other ideas? I have never not just traded in. Thank you for any/all assistance.

Hey Joyceli!
We're brand new here too! We haven't sold an RV yet and are looking to do a school bus conversion to RV.
However, I've sold a ton of cars in the past using Auto Trader, Craigslist, and sold one tow behind RV using RV Trader & a garage sale!
Sellilng something that big, I'd say put it out EVERYWHERE and make a list of all the spots you list it so that when you do sell it, you can easily take down the listings.
Best of luck with your sale!

RVtrader is a good idea. You can also put adds in your local newspaper, on social media sites, and possibly even forums like like one that have classified sections. I've never used the classified section here, but it's worth a shot.

One suggestion. Many states allow the sales tax credit for a trade to be transferred thus lowering your sales tax liability if done simultaneously with a dealer. A private sale does not offer this advantage and thus may negate the expected higher price. Depending on where you live, this may or may not matter. Here in TN it is a big deal. In some states, not so much.
We have just traded in the past. For us the concerns of a private person coming up with the money and the having to wait until the right buyer comes along have pushed us to a dealer and the sales tax benefit. Good luck whatever you decide.

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!
I would advertise it in the free Classified section here on IRV2, and on RVTrader.com. Put lots of pics in the RV Trader ad.
Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

This is where we sold our motorhome within a months' time. No hassle of phone calls, no shows, 'just lookers', etc. We named our price and we got it by a couple flying in from Florida. This company does a LOT of business.

Here's another popular consignment facility if you have a newer motorhome:

I would highly trust either of them. We know many who have bought and sold through them.
