HELP - I need this valve and rebuild kits.

Hello Everyone,

I'm looking for the valve in the pictures and rebuild kits for them. It was used in two 60's MHs that we have.

Picture #1 is the Valve. Note that the control handle is not 90degs from the pipe as the newer blade/gate/knife valves are.
It runs the direction of the pipe in which the valve is installed on and you rotate the lever to open and close the vavle.

Picture #2 is a close of what is on the valve: GSR Sun Valley, Calif.,
Part #3904 and tested/approved by: IAPMO which is inside the shield on the left.

Thank you for your help.

I searched for a gate valve with a pivoting blade instead of the guillotine type and found nothing like it. Unless you need to keep all parts original, I'd switch to a knife blade type. If the location is a problem, you could install one equipped with a cable pull.

I don't think you'll find a manual one or the parts, but what you need is made in an electric version. It can also be operated manually with an allen wrench.

I found this with a search: GSR - Reviews & Brand Information - R & G SLOANE MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC. SUN VALLEY, CA - Serial Number: 80980839
GSR appears to be a brand name owned by R&G Sloane, which makes many different valves, from very small to gigantic, and a variety of plumbing products.

The valve Don linked to does look like a motorized version of the valve you pictured. The valve cost $233.

So... you can install one of those, or a more traditional gate valve for $12 ~ $20 and have easily procured repair gaskets available about everywhere.

Just to get the numbers right, the electric drain valve kit, which is oriented in the same position the OP is requesting, is $121.00 for the kit.

The newer style valve seems too tall - long - call it what you like.

There is LESS than 5" from the edge of the 3" pipe where the valve mounts to the next tank.

And Ultravan rocker panels are 8 to 10" off the ground - not leaving much ground clearance for plumbing. Making it harder to reclock a valve to make it work.

Darn..... I typed out a message to add to the above post, I got logged off and I see the message did not post.

Anyhow, What I meant to also say in the above post:

I will contact the company about the Elec valve for $138 and get the measurements to see if it might work.

EDIT - Add to post - I'm still looking for the original style valve - until I have a sure replacement.

Tony
