Question Help needed with window replacement

Have an older MH and need to repair/replace some windows that leak. The few places I have found local want an arm and a leg to fix. Any suggestions?

Not to hard of a job to do yourself. Look on YouTube for a video.

What brand of windows, HEHR, SEGI etc.?
Is the leak around the outside of the frame or the glass itself?

Thanks guys, guess I said it wrong, double pane windows and I'm getting moisture between the panes/fogging up. I live in Michigan but traveling to Georgia, Florida and New Mexico soon.

If you are going near Ocala, Florida.
I recommend B and E Motorhome & RV Repair | Insurance Ocala, FL - B & E RV Service & Repair
give them a call and see if they can help.
They have done several repairs for me and I have been very satisfied.

sounds like you experienced a loss of the vacuum through the seal between the two sheets of window glass. there are website listings under "rv window seal repair" and "rv window seal replacement". they can be repaired...with a bit of 'rver effort'.

go to RV Life and they have a very nice write up on replacing some glass. The HEIR windows in my Damon are not true thermo pane windows. Just dual pane safety glass. No gas or vacuum in the windows. On the web there are several sites that demo how to repair yourself. Personally I think it should be a safety issue with these windows fogging up. I was told by 2 companies who repair them that it is the design of the window that is at fault. Most RV Mfg's purchase windows on a bid system, lowest cost window gets put into the MH. Also was told that many of the New Frameless windows fog easily. I called and wrote Heir and never been able to connect with any one other than a phone operator. I had a couple of windows repaired. After watching they did and didn't do I'll repair the other windows myself. You really only need to remove the outer frame and window, buff, polish and seal the frame so water or humidity doesn't get between the windows. One Rv owner said he repaired them himself and drilled seveal small holes in bottom of frame so any moisture or water could drip out from between windows. safe travels.. ed

If you're near SW MI and want to try yourself you could check in White Pigeon.
US 131 and US 12 there is Johnsons surplus about four mi west of 131 and Bontragers rv surplus about three mi east of 131. You would need to know sizes needed and search through their supply.

In Florida Suncoast Designers. They have free campsites with electric & water while you wait. Now getting between $250-300 a window. But they have a good warranty.

Just North of Tampa. So far over the last 4 years I have had 2 fixed there.
