Exclamation Help with air conditioning

So the motor on my fan died last night. So now no AC or fan. Calling everywhere with no luck any idea best place to find discontinued motors? Or comparable parts? Some of the local RV places are being less than helpful and treating me like a stupid girl that couldn't possibly know anything

Thank you in advance for any words of advice!

You probable do know more than them., Have you tried PPL I know they have a huge catalog! 1 - 1 1/2 in thick. I just looked thru it yesterday sitting in the MH on a SUNNY 60 DEGREE Day, Found a lot of stuff for the MH too.
Maybe try W.W. Graingers, Another might be jcwhitney.com, anythingrv.com rockauto.
Are there any Electric / HVAC shops by you that you can take the motor in with you.? Please let us know if and where you find one. It might help out someone else.
Thanks, Tim

Did the motor really die?? my fan motor would not come on, just made a low humming noise. Took the cover off to get access to fan motor and it still turned by hand but required lots of effort. I sprayed some lithium grease on shaft while turning it and bam, it started moving freely. works perfectly now. Wonder if it will work for you?

PPL? I would take the motor off and take it in but here in South Carolina we are getting lots of rain so one more trip up on the roof would be easier to be the last!

Yes that worked for a little while yesterday but by the second time of having to do that you could hear the bearing just giving up. And then it was all over. It is around 10 years old so I guess its to be expected.

I'm assuming that you are talking a/c fan? If so check with heating and cooling parts suppliers or electrical parts suppliers. All the info you need should be stamped on the motor. Probably cheaper than if you found one a MH shop. You may need to take the old motor in to properly match up a replacement.

Yes AC fan. I have all the info from the motor but it has been discontinued and all the local RV places don't seem to want to help. I think I found one on amazon. So praying that it will be right. No fan isn't good at all

If it will try to run when you oil the brearings then just change them.

Common parts.

38kdd may fit..

Take the motor out and remove the shaft then take it to place like motion industries and they will look at the bearrings and provide replacements...they are a bearing store...

About 3 to 5 bucks each.

Pressed on but not difficult to remove.

Repaired many fan motors like these in past lives...simple fix.

Well after this winter I will gladly change places, My Brother lives in NC...
Personally if that's the way they treat you I wouldn't go back anyhow, just think if you had to return it because they indeed ordered you the wrong motor. I can almost hear it LOL.
Hope it all works out in the end.
Tim
Now how to get the snow too you!!!!!
