We're in the process of listing our home for sale here in Michigan in order to downsize and travel more in our motorhome when we retire in a few years.

In your opinion, what is the best way to promote a home that has a special RV barn for a motorhome? We're only 2-1/2 miles from town on a little over one acre, but we have a 24' X 40' barn with 12' door that we store our daughter's class C in, and we've built a brand new 15' X 44' X 16' high barn with a special 30 amp rv plug to store our 40' diesel. I know that any RV enthusiast would fall in love with it, but I don't know where to advise our realtor to advertise such a feature? Thanks for your advice!!!

Take a look at this website and see how they do it. Others offer the same classified section. TiffinRVNetwork Classified Ads - Home Page

How is your high barn holding up in the snow this year?

Hi Born2RV,
To hit your target marker, consider:
1. Motorhome Life Magazine
2. FMCA Magazine
3. Any of the 100's of sites that one can advertise their RV or Rv related products.
4. A local Realtor can also help with finding people that match you property. That's their job. No sale no money spent.

Thank you for your advice! Our realtor is AWSOME, but she doesn't have a CLUE as to what a motorhome is! She's a young woman and just doesn't know the value of the barns. Plus, she just had a baby - so we're trying to "help" her and us out! LOL! I know there are people in the area like us looking for someplace warm and cozy to store their beloved "home on wheels", but I just didn't know where to find them as far as advertising. We are members of FMCA, so maybe I'll start with that magazine and the classified section on this website - which I wasn't even aware of. Thank you again!

there is alot of guys out there looking for a big pole barn to work on things or to build things. I don't think you would have a problem selling it,, alot us would love to have a barn that big just to do things in as a 2 to 3 car garage or a work shop in the baement just don't seem to work for some.

I'm not sure if I would stay with a Realtor that can't find the value of a barn.... It sounds as though she may be a little on the inexperienced side, I think you need someone who knows how to market your place.

Could I suggest to our realtor that SHE purchase some ads in the suggested magazines?

Biggest thing to help it sell would be somewhere south of I-20 and preferrably south of I-10....

Just kidding....

We just sold our home with a 32x48 heated RV barn with 1-12x14 door and 1-10x10 door on 2 acres. you can google (1750 20th sideroad new tecumseth on.) and the description and pictures will come up the people that bought it the husband had a collection of old John Deere tractors and his wife wanted a new house to enjoy, now they both are happy and we are full timing it for 1-2-3 years. good luck with selling your property

X999 on this one. She might be nice, but she has no clue based on your post.
