Our elustrious Oil Companies, and the Wall Street speculators, are to blame for this rise in prices. Thanks to them, the Oil Companies are making $1500.00 a second, that's right, $1500.00 a second! Do not be fooled by people who have only one thing on their agenda.

We have a 4700 +/- mile trip from MI throught the West (Mt. Rushmore/Yellostone/Zion NP/Grand Canyon/Six Flags St. Louis) and back...The gas prices are going to HURT but hopefully the smiles on the kids faces will offset the price at the pump!

Will we RV less? Absolutely NOT! Probably more this year than last.

Life is not a rehearsal. You only get on stage once so make the most of it while you're here.

No, we won't RV less. We may have to make other adjustments, but we'll keep doing what we enjoy.

Think back to the 2007 and 2008 time frame when the commodities speculators drove the prices to these same levels (politics?). It forced several manufacturers out of business and really did uncalled for damage to the business, especially in northern Indiana.

We full time so we will plan on staying in each place an extra week so that we can cut down the driving time some. Probably need to slow down and enjoy each place more thoroughly anyway.

I remember when i though gas would never reach $1. Seemed so far away fronm 50 and 60 cents.

I guess like always we will adjust. Not that i like it but we will have to cut back somewhere. Bigger garden this summer and more hunting next fall.

In md.the state want to raise the gas tax. The wife and I will still rv may be not every other may be once a month. The trip to fla. to hog hunt may have to wait. We have been using gas buddy on my phone it seems to help with finding low prices. Thanks to all it helps.

I just made a post on my facebook (my other place to vent) about how much the oil companies aggravate me. But what can we do that has any affect. Write our legislative leaders? Yeah right! It's read by some intern then deleted, unless it means big votes. I'm in sales. My income is proportiate to how hard I work and how much I sell. I'll just work harder and sell more to pay for the fuel. We're doing a 2400 mile round trip this August to Sturgis, SD. I originally estimated the fuel expense to be around $1200. I guess we'll have to add another $800 or so to that.

Circle of concern, circle of influence. Don't stress to much over what's outside the smaller circle.

Life is good we're happy!

I just planned a round-trip journey up the Oregon coast to Winchester Bay or so from Fresno, CA. I'll be out 21 days. Total coast of gas figured in the high $4.00 range computes to just less than $40.00 per day. Add camp fees to that and I am still around $75.00-$80.00 a day. Most all of the motels on the coast charge more than that amount for one nights stay, some much more than that amount. Have to eat either way and I can eat cheaper in the motorhome...plus I have my own bed. It's still a cheap way to enjoy life.

Shouldn't affect our travel plans too much, as we usually limit our travels to destinations within 3,000+ or - from our home and usually stay at those destinations for 2 to 3 months. At $4 per gal round trip fuel cost $1,185 and $2,300 @ $5 per gal. Of course will need to increase $$$ flow into our travel fund...

We full time and are on a tight budget, but we will find a way. We probably will keep our trips to neighboring states and stay longer so we are not spending as much on gas. But not travel??? No way!
