Our plans for the summer are canceled...If I could sell this gas hog I would. But since I cant offer financing no takers. We enjoyd our summer trips but at $1500.00 for a round trip we got other things to buy. I really wish we would never have bought this. But its water (money) over the wall now.. I think were forced to kiss this life style goodbye..Now their talking over $5.00 per gal for gas. this summer..

It really doesnt matter how much we drill. The price of gas wont go down and we may never see that oil for our own use it will go to the highest bidder overseas. There are a lot of places the oil companies have permission to drill in they wont drill because they want to keep the price high and act like theres a shortage why should they spend more money on drilling when they can keep it high the way it is. Dont blame this all on the government as they have given the oil co. permission in lots of places. They just wont drill for the reasons given above. They got us by the short hairs.

Sorry, history is not on the side of the politician when it comes to high fuel prices.

Estimated gas price in Bahrain: $1.21 USD per gallon -- it can be done!

We need people with a backbone to go after the over speculation gas inflation and we need to expand our fuel sources (i.e. Nat Gas), end boutique fuel gas monopolies, and drill baby drill!

I'm ready to vote for the Republican this time, couldn't be any worse. But it doesn't matter if we don't start drilling, refining, and transporting oil the cheapest way possible, by pipeline.

Part of the high price in md is the government likes to use gas as away to raise there bank account so they can spend more. They do not know how to not spend or not raise to raise fees and or taxes.

Oil is a global commodity, unlike the way it was in the past. Price is set by global oil futures, not how much we drill or refine in the US. With Iran trying to be a big player and the Europian financial problems we are tied to all of that if we like it or not.

In regards to the post on the break down of $1 of oil and the 6.2% net profit left for the oil companies, I bet there are a hell of alot of businesses out there that do not achieve a profit that high. When I worked in the retail business, if we had a year with a net profit of 5%, we had a very good year. At one time gas stations made about 3 to 6 cents profit per gallon of gas sold. I believe that is now in the .35 to .45 cents per gallon range, based on a local news investigation into the cost of gas per gallon in the Western New York State area.

We've already cut back on the length of our trips until we get an administration that allows for more domestic oil production.

What am I missing, how can anyone BUT the energy companies be to blame. 500,000 gal of fuel are being shipped OUTSIDE the U.S. EACH MONTH!!

How soon we forget when the last tenure was in office, oh let's see July 2008 and gas was $4.11/gal. Party has nothing to do with what's going on.
