We are hosting in Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge. This is the only incorporated city on the Pacific Crest Trail (Reese Witherspoon "The Wild") We offer the hikers green grass to pitch a tent, a shower, WiFi access, water, flush toilets, electronics plugins, all for $3.
These people are the worst of the entitled generation. Pitch where you will, never mind the sprinklers. Trash where you will. Party late...never mind the campers.
Amazing how many foreigners we get and how they all have become "Americanized" in there behavior.

Sad sign of the times. Sorry you had to go through that. Don't be surprised when someone comes on here and defends the poor behavior and tells you that you are uptight. :-( They are taking over.

Are any of the ones that are going from Mexico to Canada causing problems?

Or is it the local crowd that are there for the free goodies?

I have a friend who did most of the trail and he was not there to party. Up before dawn, on the trail and on the ground sleeping by dark.

My wife has hiked the Colorado trail 3 times 500 miles, the John Muir trail 220 miles, the Camino D Santiago 500 miles and on and on. One thing I have found in her escapades is that the through hikers are a fairly serious lot not that they don't have fun but it is the weekend warriors who seem to provide most of the drama, inconsideration and trash. Once you get a day or two away from the major trailheads there seems to be a very noticeable difference at least in my experience tagging along with her when I can.
