The "TRAILING ARMS" issue is the biggest concern. We had ours replaced last year just as a safety precaution. We did not have any breakage on our arms at the time. We had the SOURCE ENGINNEERING Arms installed and have been very satisfied with the results. This problem is not just with NEPTUNE's but with all the units with the RR4R / R4R chassis as stated in the above post. This would be my biggest comment to you.
The RR4R chassis rides really rough. Now again there is a RIDE ENHANCEMENT KIT (REK) out on the market that has really improved the ride. We have not had this installed yet but there is alot of discussions on IRV2 about what a difference this ride enhancement kit does for that chassis. Do a search on this in IRV2 and you will be able to read all about this improvement. We have plans to have it installed in the future but when I had the trailing arms installed we also spent $ for KONI Shocks and right now $ is tight.
As for other things about the NEPTUNE;
We purchased it new and have been very happy with the floor plan and the other interior features. It is just DW and I who travel in it so it works out nicely. We are not 'full timer's" but we get out about once a year for a two week trip and then a couple of times for weekend trips. Sorry to say we have only 9000 miles on the unit so it is pretty new.
Again if you do a search here in IRV2 about the NEPTUNE / CAYMAN you should be able to read all about these units. The CAYMAN is a sister unit of the same style as the Neptune but under the MONACO badge.
Good luck and test drive what ever unit you are considering. Test drive on both highways and city streets.

Funny, the man we are buying it from is name is Bill.
Thank you for the info.
The unit is a real nice one and the cercumstance made it sweeter but not sure from day to day now.
Let me explain a bit.
He is from NC, he sold it to a person in Reno, NV. Being loans are so hard to get in Nevada, he held the note for him. a year later the guy in Reno lost his job and Bill had to take back the coach. The guy was suppose to drive it to Vegas to a dealership but for some reason took it to Kingman AZ.
Anyway...it is now at a Truck/RV Good Year repair facility.
The owner is going to have the inside detailed, replace the microwave, all the blinds (as they are badly stained), the drapery. Someone stole the Satellite, so he is replacing that. He is fixing all the small scrapes and dings. Gaving us $5000.00 to replace the tires and replace the brake buddy that is missing too.
He replaces all 6 batteries. It only has 21,000 miles and the Generator has 55 hours on it.
He is willing to replace the arms to...if I am willing to split the cost with him.
He is carrying the note for us. Our purchase contract is for $85,000.00, what he owes on it. Payments are $650.00 month. After looking forever and finding out what payments on various units would be, this was a great deal.
No, I have not test driven it because it has no insurance on it, the guy from Reno drove it to AZ with expired tags and no insurance. So it can't move from where it is until someone gets insurance on it. WHen we went to see it last weekend. The shop foreman said it is dirty but a real nice coach. He said Bill had them check it all out and everything is working and running up to par. He thought the coach was a great deal, especially that the owner is doing so much to it. We tested everything we could and all was working great.
But we also felt that if the chassis, engine, generator, batteries and inverter...along with appliances and TV's then anything else that was wrong
wouldn't be any worse than normal wear and tear.
We have looked at lots of different make coaches including other HR and Neptunes. I think this is the 3rd Neptune we looked at. The others were older and had less up grades in it than this one and they all wanted between $155,000 and $179,000.00. So I guess we thought this was a good thing.
If I was going to live in it full time, I would not be buying it, I would be searching out a 40-45 foot coach.
Oh well, I was going to try to keep it short, so sorry!
Tell me what you all think??
