Question House sitting for snowbirds

Has anyone come across an app or a website that has house sitting for snowbirds? We are hoping to go FT when my husband retires, but until then we would like to consider selling the house now and go RV FT in the spring, summer, fall months. We live in a cold climate state so we aren't able to RV during the winter. Was wondering if people who live up north during the summers and winters in the south might have homes that they would want occupied during the winter. Or just any other suggestions. Thanks!

We live in NE Florida and spend the winter in our motorhome about an hour and a half away. All our friends are from up north and the Midwest, so we all spend the winter together. We have talked about seeing if anyone would want to come down here and rent our house. Our family is here, as are all our doctors, so we come up occasionally. We just weren't sure how to find someone. Not something we would want to put on Craigslist! In both our cases, there are surely folks out there who would be interested, it's just knowing where to ask!

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Not being a snowbird (yet) I can't help with your question.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

We live in Ohio and winter in SoCal. I winterize our house and leave it empty during the winter months. Drain all the water lines, pour rv antifreeze in the toilet bowls and sinks, leave heater set at lowest setting around 40 degrees. Make sure all doors and windows are locked. Contact a neighbor or family member to check on the house every week or so. We have never had a problem doing it this way. There are RV articles on line about what to do to winterize your house. Try searching the good sam web site for info.
