How do I get spell check to work?

Ok I give up. I sent mutiple emails to admins to contact me at the bottom, never a responce.

How do I get the spell checker to work, I can't spell for crap.

I downloaded the spell checker mutiple times, I click on the abc check sign and it always asks me to download again.

If you switch to Firefox rather than using MS Internet Explorer you will have a built in spell checker. Anything misspelled will have a red squiggly line under it. You can right click on the work and it will give suggestions for the correct spelling.

Also available for free with Firefox is the add-on called 'After The Deadline'. This checks spelling, grammar and style. Works great...

As suggested, switch to Mozilla fire Fox. It is a much better program than MS IE as it has a lot of features built in...like a spell checker.

A program called IE Spell is an add it fro IE and should down load and work unless you are using an old version of IE. What version of IE is being used?

Hi Guys:

Thanks for the info I got Firefox and it works great. I was really getting upset trying to get that other spell checker to work. What a PIA....

But I do like this setup, as usual you guys are the best.

Regards... Jim P.

Like any new program, it will take a little bit to get used to the differences, but I think you will like it more than IE. To see what add-ons are available, click the "Tools" at the top of the window and then "Add-ons". Click "Get Add-ons" and then "Browse All Add-ons". This will bring you to the site where thousands of add-ons are there to browse, read about and down load. Many of these are truly amazing....

I gave up on it and started using a new message in Outlook Express. I'd type what I thought was the appropriate response in Outlook Express then cut and paste into the quick reply box. Probably not as efficient as using the suggested spell check but works for me.

I do the same thing using MS Word.

I use my spell checker and proof read my posts several times before posting.

I then read my posts after posting.

After some period of time, it could be hours or days, I notice a mistake in my post and correct it.

Sigh.

Dirk, Moderators and administrators can repair mistakes, but members can't after about 30 minutes....

My point is that I try real hard to catch my mistakes, but don't.

BTW, members have 60 minutes to edit their posts.

Send a message via Skype™ to Barbara S.
I don't like to misspell words either so I keep a small dictionary and thesaurus next to my computer. They are both very handy when I have a question about the spelling of a word or need a better word to use.

Friends have tried to convert me to use Firefox but I like IE and am familiar with it, so I continue to use it.
