How do you haul your E-bikes?

Just got back from the bike shop. They had a hitch rack that could haul 2 ebikes. The cost $675. Sticks out from the bumper about 2 ft. So how do you guys haul your ebikes? I have a 03 Newmar Dutch Star pulling a wrangler

I haul mine in a rack on the back. I cover it with a large Charbroil BBQ cover that I use a system of grommets and bungies to hold bottom closed under the bike. Works great. No rain gets on the bike and it keeps prying eyes from seeing what's there

It s an electric bike. One which you can peddle or hit the throttle and go. They are nice but heavy

Good idea with the cover. What kind of rack? How much does the bike weigh?

A moped, imho, was more of a scooter - these are bikes with battery assist...

We carry on a regular two bike carrier on the back of the jeep - but looking for a 6k plus dual receiver I can put on the coach and mount bike rack between coach and jeep....

We take the batteries off the bike and it weighs basically the same as a bike... put batteries in coach to charge on the way - three birds with one stone
It's charged, lighter to mount, and less prying eyes maybe

what's the weight rating on your hitch? traditional wisdom can mean your tongue weight is ~10% of the weight rating. flat towing means your tongue weight now is virtually nil since the towing force is horizontal and not vertical. how heavy are the bikes? any way to remove the motors while towing to ease the load?

Which bike rack do you use that is rated to carry two of these bikes.
I have thought about a dual receiver on the coach, but it is the rack that I am wondering about. Also will the towbar fold up with dual reciever

My battery is only like 6lbs. I dont know how lite your bikes are but mine is still well over 50lbs

Thanks for the help

Thanks for the reply. The issue is not with the tongue weight its with the rack. Bikes are about 125 for both. Most racks are rated for about 80lbs. Taking the motors off is not going to happen.
