I try to hang mine in the shower, over the showerhead, with as much hanging down as possible, but even a week later, there is still water in it.

Then I roll it into a tupperware container with a lid and shove it in storage. It usually is still wet inside.

I just try to run a couple seconds of fresh water through it at my next stop, to flush it out, before I hook it up to the trailer.

Is there a better way to do this?

I wonder if I should not put a lid on it, so it can continue to dry out while traveling and while in storage...

So far, even on well water, no stink or funk in the lines. Yet.

On the hose reel. Never had a problem.

I have a basket inside a storage compartment next to the wet bay. The hose is coiled there with the ends open. I elevate it to well drain it before stowing. Before connecting to the coach at next use I give it a good flush for several seconds.

I drain mine out good, coil it up by hand, connect the two ends together, store in bay next to wet bay.

We have large plastic containers where the outside items that are used are stored in. Each container is labeled; such as fresh water lines and filter, Sewer line and connections fittings and electrical items. Two other containers are labeled for satellite connections and cable and the gas grill.
When the fresh water hoses are put away they are drained and then rolled up and the hose end fittings are screwed together. They are than place in the container. Ever 6 months the hoses are brought into the hose and sanitized in the kitchen sink.

That's the way I do it too, no way for it to leak water out, I keep it in the wet bay. When I hook it up the next time I run the water through it for a few seconds before hooking it up to the MH.

We also just coiled it, connected the two ends and tossed it in a bay. No hanging to drip dry.

I drain them good and then throw them in a plastic bin next to the bin that has all my dumping stuff. It never occurred to me until reading here that making the hose a Petri dish was the way to go. I leave the ends open. I also flush the feed pipe till it is running cold water. Then I flush the hose for minutes before I put on the filter to fill my fresh water tank I use for everything.

Before all of that I make sure the tap water is blessed good by the dog. If a thirsty critter won’t drink the water. Then getting used to it is not on my addenda.

OK, so the consensus is to hook the ends together, to keep them sealed together and keep the ickies out.

Good to know. I will do that from now on.

Previously, we TRIED to dry them out first then just store them in a tupperware. We don't have a "wet bay", at least I don't thinks so, since I am not aware of what the term means. We have several storage bays, but all are basically inside the trailer, either under the bed, couch, or behind the dining area.

That's what we have done since I got my first RV in 1966.
With the present MH I push the button to reel in the hose and it drains itself on the way in.

Me 4 or is it 5? We live in the south central US. Years ago learned to screw ends together......way to many bugs and insects in our part of the world to leave ends open. And at next use, ALWAYS run the water for a few minutes before connecting to the RV. Washes out anything residual in hose, and you will be surprised at the brown dirt and rust coming out of the campground water line, especially at an older campground.

You guys are talking about reels, etc. We are in a 25' trailer, so no reels. We just coil it into a tupperware bucket and put a lid on it. I try to take it off the spigot, and coil it one end high, so most of the water pours out the other end, then hang it in the shower for a few days.

But the "hook one end to the other" idea sounds pretty good. Even if it is wet in there, it will minimize bugs and stuff from getting in there and making a home. And I still rinse it out for a minute or two before I hook it up the next time.
